Dear Me,

It’s time to be kinder to yourself.

Make the most of everyday, but don’t feel guilty about the days when the world seems a little too much to handle. All you can do is try. Enjoy the quiet days, use the dull days where nothing is going on to take a breath.

Remember this is your life and no-one else can decide how you should live it. They can advise and you would be a fool not to, at least, listen but every choice is yours. You will make some bad decisions and that’s okay. Just make sure you learn from them. Never take any lesson for granted, use what you learn to better yourself.

Remember to be grateful for everything you have and don’t be bitter about the things you can’t yet obtain. Tell your friends and family how much you love them and how grateful you are to have them in your life. Without these people who would you be?

Give yourself some credit for what you have achieved alone, whether that is something as simple as leaving the house and walking to the shop, or flying to another country. Challenges are different for everyone but that doesn’t make your battles any less important.

Keep talking, keep typing, keep writing and keep dreaming. Be honest with everyone. Don’t shut people out because there is nothing worse than being left in the dark on your own. Ask for help, accept the help. You don’t have to take on the weight of the world alone.
