Monkey, Flamingo and Penguin photo spam!

I was practically jumping for joy on Thursday knowing I had 5 days off… Now it’s Wednesday and back to work I went.  It has been such a grey day and all I wanted to do was go home and curl up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and some tasty treats.

I did have a lovely few days though. Got stupidly intoxicated on Friday night, draft players picked, a few tears here and there and one man with his head in the loo. It was a success, I suppose! Plastic cups and paper plates meant no washing up so the only excuse Deakon and I have for any mess left is just laziness!

The weather was so beautiful on Sunday we couldn’t resist having a BBQ. We discovered that steak cooked on the BBQ is the best steak. Dea couldn’t have got it more spot on! Super juicy and rare just how I like it! 🙂

We took a spontaneous trip to Twycross Zoo on Monday. Once again it was a gorgeous day, too good to sit home and do nothing! It was a great day out, I was happy as I got to see the flamingo’s and the penguins. We made it just in time to see them being fed.

Kay and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the little guys who didn’t seem to win the fight for the fishes!

Clearly, I took my camera to the Zoo. I didn’t get any photo’s Friday night, this to me is a sign of a good night with great company. Too busy to pose! 😉 Unlike this guy…

I’m undecided how I feel about the zoo, yes they home endangered species but isn’t this like interfering with evolution? Whilst I love being able to see the animals and photograph them with ease I do feel sorry for them being in cages and being stared at through glass all day. The screaming children were enough to drive me crazy on just that one day, let alone having snot faced wailing babies stare at you every day!

We were finally able to show Kay that not all birds with long beaks were pelicans!

We spent yesterday lazing around the house watching Dexter on Netflix and eating rubbish. Oh how I wish we could do it all again today!

I hope you all had a FANTASTIC weekend, not long till the next one!
